The Fishermen’s Hospital is a registered charity (Number 256680) with the primary activity of providing almshouse accommodation for retired fishermen in Great Yarmouth.
The last major restoration took place in 1985. The upkeep of the cottages is the responsibility of 11 Trustees and Clerk and refurbishment is needed when a cottage becomes vacant. This Grade I Listed Building is situated at the north end of Great Yarmouth Market Place and currently has eight residents.
The maintenance of this 319 year old building, which is of such historic interest, requires constant repair and restoration. Our restoration programme follows recommendations from our Quinquennial Survey.
The Covid-19 Pandemic has severely limited our fund raising since 2020/21 – please consider making a donation.
